Verena Rohrer (born April 8, 1996 in Sachseln ) is a Swiss snowboarder . She starts in the halfpipe discipline .
Career
Rohrer has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2010 . In the 2010/11 season she achieved her first podium finishes with third place at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax and first place at the Iceripper Junior Open in Davos . In January 2013 she won the Audi Snowboard Series in Davos and the O'Neill Evolution in Davos. The following month she won the Trentino Rookie Fest on Monte Bondone . At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2013 in Erzurum she won the silver medal. She made her World Cup debut at the beginning of the 2013/14 season in Cardrona , which she finished in 36th place. In the further course of the season she came in second place at the Burton European Open in Laax. In her first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , she finished 27th. In March 2014 she won the gold medal at the Snowboard Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco . At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg she came ninth. In March 2017, she finished 18th at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she finished 14th. In the 2018/19 season she achieved five top ten placements in the World Cup, including third place in Mammoth and second place in the Secret Garden ski resort , sixth place in the Freestyle World Cup and third place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2019 Snowboard World Championships in Park City , she came in sixth. In the following season she came with three top ten placements, 22nd place in the Freestyle World Cup and eighth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. She finished fifth at the Winter X Games 2020 in Aspen .
Rohrer became Swiss champion in the halfpipe discipline in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. In the 2014/15 and 2017/18 seasons she won the halfpipe classification in the European Cup.
