Fabienne Meyer (born November 28, 1981 in Langenthal , Bern ) is a former Swiss bobsleigh athlete .

Career

Fabienne Meyer contested her first World Cup race in January 2005 in Cesana . In the following season in Altenberg she achieved her first place in the top 10 with sixth place.

Meyer competed in the European Bobsleigh Cup in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons . In 2008 she became Junior World Champion in Igls with her push-puller Marina Gilardoni . From the 2008/09 season she returned to the World Cup and was regularly placed in the top 15. At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver , she finished tenth together with Hanne Schenk .

In January 2011 Meyer achieved a World Cup podium for the first time with third place in Igls. In the 2011/12 season, she finished all eight races of the season among the best eight drivers and finished fourth in the overall World Cup. Fabienne Meyer and Hanne Schenk won bronze at the 2012 European Championships in Altenberg. At the 2012 World Championships in Lake Placid , Meyer achieved sixth place with Schenk and, in 2013, fifth place with the Switzerland I team in St. Moritz .

In December 2013 Fabienne Meyer won her only title at the Swiss championships when she participated eighth. In addition, she was able to achieve her only World Cup victory in the 2013/14 World Cup season in the last race in Igls with pusher Tanja Mayer and at the same time became European Champion . After eighth place with Tanja Mayer at the 2014 Olympic Games from Sochi she announced her departure.
