Sarah Forster (born May 19, 1993 in Berneck ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been playing for Brynäs IF in the Svenska damhockeyligan (SDHL) since 2018 .

Sarah Forster began her career in the junior division of HC Ajoie , for whose male junior teams (most recently the U20 top juniors) she was active until 2013. From 2011 she played for the ladies team of HC Lugano in the Swiss Women's Hockey League A and won the Swiss championship in 2014 with the women's team . In December 2014 she decided to move to Sweden in the Svenska damhockeyligan for Linköpings HC . By the end of the 2013/14 season, she completed 15 games for the Swedish club and won the Swedish championship with them (and national team colleague Stefanie Marty ) .

Forster returned to Switzerland for the 2015/16 season and was signed by the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy . At the same time, she trained with the amateur men's team from the 2nd League Delémont-Vallée .

Before the 2018/19 season, Forster returned to Sweden, where she has since played for Brynäs IF in Gävle .

International

Sarah Forster was part of the women's national team under coach Daniela Diaz , which won the bronze medal in the game for third place against Sweden at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .

She was also part of the Swiss squad at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the quarter-finals, the team failed due to the Olympic athletes from Russia .

Personal

Sarah Forster comes from a family in which ice hockey was very important, including her sister Justine and her brother Gaëtano. Her father Marcel played in the National League B in the 1980s . In addition to her career as an ice hockey player, Forster worked as a commercial clerk at a car repair shop .
