Jeanette Attiger-Suter

Jeanette Marie-Louise Attiger-Suter (born September 10, 1938 in Basel , † May 17, 1987 in Binningen ) was a Swiss lawyer , chief judge and politician ( FDP ). She was from 1975 to 1982 basel scenic district administrator .

Life

Jeannette Marie-Louise Attiger-Suter studied in Basel Jura , where she also earned a doctorate . As the mother of three children, she first worked part-time as a court clerk , then became a partner in her husband Peter Josef Attiger's legal practice. After his death in 1983, she continued to run the firm alone. From 1982 to 1987 she was chief judge. She was considered an expert on State - and administrative law .

Political career

At the political level, Jeanette Attiger-Suter was elected Binningen's local councilor in 1972. In the same year she was the first female Council President and remained in the Council until 1978. In 1975 the office in the cantonal district administrator was added, where she remained until 1982 and held the position of President of the Electoral Law Commission.

From 1984 to 1987 she was President of the FDP Baselland .
