Career
Yannick Weber comes from the youth of SC Bern , but spent his first professional season at the second division club SC Langenthal . After just one year, he decided to move to North America in 2006 and from then on played with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League . In the 2007 NHL Entry Draft , the Canadiens de Montréal pulled him 73rd place and signed him a year later. After a few seasons mainly with missions for the farm team of the Canadiens in the AHL, the Hamilton Bulldogs , Weber came in the 2010/11 season to 41 missions in the Fanion team. At the end of the season, Weber signed a one-way contract until 2013.
For the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season, the defender was signed by the Swiss club Genève-Servette HC in September 2012 . In July 2013, Weber signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks . There he could not prevail in the NHL squad for the time being and was handed over to the AHL farm team of the Canucks, the Utica Comets , in November 2013 . In the course of the season, however, Weber established himself in the NHL and came to 49 missions for the Canucks.
After three years in Vancouver, Weber did not get a new contract with the Canucks after the 2015/16 season, so he joined the Nashville Predators as a free agent in July 2016 . With these he reached the Stanley Cup final at the end of the 2016/17 season, but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins there .
