Career
Calle Järnkrok began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Brynäs IF , with whose U20 junior he won the SuperElit in the 2008/09 season. For the Brynäs professional team, the center made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2009/10 season . He scored five goals in 38 games and provided seven templates. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2010 in the second round as a total of 51 players by the Detroit Red Wings .
For the 2012/13 season Järnkrok received an NHL entry contract over three years, but initially remained on loan at Brynäs IF. In the main round of the 2012/13 season he was the top scorer of his team with 42 points. In March 2013, after Brynäs was eliminated from the Elitserien play-offs, Järnkrok was ordered by the Red Wings to their farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins from the American Hockey League .
On March 5, 2014, Järnkrok was transferred to the Nashville Predators in exchange for David Legwand, along with Patrick Eaves and a third-round vote in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft . With the Predators he reached the Stanley Cup final in the 2016/17 season, but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins there .
International
For Sweden , Järnkrok took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2011 . At the 2013 World Cup in Stockholm and Helsinki he was part of the men's national team for the first time and won the gold medal with it.
