For the 2011/12 season , the Canadian made his debut for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League and quickly became a top performer.
On January 6, 2016, Johansen was transferred to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Seth Jones . In the 2016/17 season he reached the final of the Stanley Cup with the Predators , but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins there . The attacker then signed a new eight-year contract in Nashville in July 2017, which is expected to earn him an average annual salary of eight million US dollars.
