Ursina Haller (born December 29, 1985 in Zernez , Canton of Graubünden ) is a Swiss snowboarder .

Career

Ursina Haller spent her childhood in Davos , later she moved to her birthplace Zernez , she starts for the local ski club Sarsura Zernez . On January 23, 2004, at the age of 19, she made her World Cup debut in Kreischberg and came 14th in the halfpipe . At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Zermatt, she was 11th in the halfpipe and won the gold medal in Big Air .

Haller is multiple Swiss champion in the halfpipe and in big air. In addition to the FIS World Cup, Haller has also been taking part in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour since 2006 , where she takes part in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. On February 5, 2008 Haller achieved his first victory in the TTR Tour by winning the “ Crans-Montana Champs Open” slopestyle competition .

In October 2010 Haller reached her first World Cup podium in Saas Fee with third place. On January 4th, 2010 she won the TTR competition "O'Neill Evolution" in Davos and a week later she came second at the " Burton European Open Snowboarding Championships" in Laax . After these successes, she was finally nominated for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , where she came 9th in the halfpipe. In January 2011 she succeeded in winning the silver medal at the World Championships in La Molina . Between 2011 and 2014 Haller stood on the World Cup podium a total of five times. In 2014 she won the European Open in Laax; at the Olympic Games in Sochi she made it into the final of the top twelve.
