Andris Šics (born May 12, 1985 in Sigulda , Latvian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Latvian luge rider .

Andris Šics started tobogganing at the age of ten. He has been a member of the Latvian national luge team since 2003. Together with his older brother Juris , he has belonged to the expanded world elite since 2005. His first major success was winning the bronze medal in the team competition at the 2006 European Championships in Winterberg . In February 2006 he represented his country for the first time in Turin at the Winter Olympics . With the team he surprisingly won the gold medal at the 2008 European Luge Championships in Cesana .

In the doubles, he and his brother Juris won the silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and the bronze medal in 2014 . At the 2018 European Luge Championships on the home track in Sigulda, Latvia, he and his brother finished second in a two-seater.
