Career

The sports soldier Hyman, who competes for the TJ Saně Smržovka club , has been tobogganing since 1995. His brother Jakub Hyman is also a luge athlete. Hyman has been competing in the Luge World Cup since the last races of the 2003/04 season . In the following season he also competed with Tomas Hofman in the doubles competition, but without achieving any notable success there. His best result in an individual race until 2007, Hyman achieved in the 2006/07 season as 20th in Altenberg . At the Luge World Championships in 2007 he was 37th in the individual competition with the Czech team, he finished ninth. He later finished the season standings in 35th place in the overall individual World Cup standings.

The 2007/08 season was little more successful for Hyman. Again he did not manage to establish himself among the world's best. At the 2008 Luge World Championships in Oberhof, he only achieved 29th place and in the overall World Cup ranking only 32nd place. In the following season, he again improved by one place to 31st place overall. The 2009 Luge World Championships meant a step backwards for him with 34th place in the individual. The 2009/10 Olympic season also got off to a poor start for Hyman. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he reached in single pass Rank 25 in the short time later held European Luge Championships 2010 in Latvian Sigulda he went to the 24th place.

Despite the lack of success, Hyman started again in the 2010/11 season in the World Cup and in the Nations Cup at the same time. After he only reached 29th place in the Nations Cup, he finished 34th in the World Cup at the end of the year. At the 2011 Luge World Championships , he was again only a place in midfield with 29th place. At the Nations Cup 2011/12, Hyman surprised with good performances and ended up with a very good 11th place overall. In the 2011/12 World Cup he also made it into the top twenty for the first time with an 18th place in the overall standings. At the Luge World Championships 2012 in Altenberg, however, he missed a top 20 position and ended up in 23rd place.

For the 2012/13 season, Hyman hoped for a further increase in performance. However, he only reached 12th place in the Nations Cup and only 24th place remained for him in the World Cup. Even at the 2013 Luge World Championships in Whistler and the 2013 European Luge Championships in Oberhof, he remained without much improvement and finished in 19th and 22nd place.

Hyman is the brother of Jakub Hyman, who is also a tobogganist and lives in Smržovka .
