Jakub Hyman (born April 16, 1984 in Jablonec nad Nisou ) is a former Czech luge rider .

Career

Whose brother Hyman Ondřej is also active as a luger, rodelte since 1994. 2003 he was admitted to the Czech national team and started off the 2004/05 season in the Luge World Cup . In his first year as a professional he competed in five of the eight races and won all World Cup points, putting him in 46th place in the overall World Cup ranking for the season. In the following 2005/06 season he was able to improve to 42nd place. At the European Luge Championships 2006 in Winterberg , he reached 25th place in the individual race. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he finished the individual race in 27th place. His start at the games was not yet certain after a serious fall a few days earlier during training in Cesana Pariol, but Hyman reported fit again shortly before the games.

In the 2006/07 season , Hyman achieved his best result to date with 24th place in Lake Placid . He finished 31st at the 2007 Luge World Championships in Igls. A year later, he was 30th at the 2008 Luge World Championships in Oberhof . A little later he finished 24th at the European Luge Championships in 2008 in Cesana Pariol . With the 2007/08 season , Hyman ended his most successful season in 28th place in the overall World Cup standings. However, he could not expand his services in the episode.

At the 2009 Luge World Championships in Lake Placid, he finished in 36th place. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , Hyman finished in 28th place.

Hyman finally ended his active luge career after the 2011/12 season , in which he again achieved 46th place overall and 30th place at the 2012 Luge World Championships in Altenberg .
