The 43rd FIL World Championships in luge was on 1 and 2 February 2013, Whistler Sliding Center in Canada's Whistler , British Columbia played.

The title fights were awarded by the world association FIL on June 20, 2009 at the 57th FIL Congress in Liberec to the only applicant, Whistler.

The most successful team was Germany, which won eight of the twelve medals and all world championship titles.

Natalie Geisenberger wins her first gold medal at world championships. The Slovak Viera Gbúrová and the Ukrainian Olena Shkhumova could not finish the first round . Geisenberger set the start record of 3,348 seconds and the track record of 36.688 seconds. For the first time in the women's championship run, the German team managed to get four starters into the top five.

Felix Loch won his fourth World Cup gold medal. With Andi Langenhan and Johannes Ludwig , two Germans also won silver and bronze. The track record was set by Felix Loch with 48.133 seconds, and Ludwig achieved the starting record of 6.930 seconds.
