Inars Kivlenieks (* 4. July 1986 in Riga ) is a Latvian luger .

Inārs Kivlenieks has been sledding since 2003 and joined the Latvian national team in 2006. In the 2005/06 season he made his debut in doubles with Lauris Bērziņš in the Luge World Cup . At the start of the season, the team finished 20th on their home track in Sigulda. Things went even better in the following race in Cesana Pariol , where they finished 14th. In the overall standings, the doubles came in 26th place, in the following season they were able to improve by one place. A 12th place was the best result in Nagano .

For the 2007/08 season , Kivlenieks switched to the single-seater. In his first race in Winterberg , the Latvian came in 20th. It should remain his best result of the season. The start of the Luge World Cup 2008/09 went much better . In the first race in Igls he was able to improve to 14th place, in Sigulda he even made it into the top ten in eleventh place.

Kivlenieks drove his first major event at the 2008 European Luge Championships in Cesana, where he finished 13th. The 2008 Luge World Championships in Oberhof did not go as well . Here the Latvian was 28.

He finally achieved podium places in the World Cup in the 2016/17 season (second place in the overall ranking of the relay race), second place with the team relay at the 2016 Luge World Championships and third place with the team relay at the 2015 European Luge Championships .
