Daniel Pfister (born December 7, 1986 in Schwaz ) is an Austrian luge rider .

Daniel Pfister from the TU Sparkasse Innsbruck has been a luge athlete since 1994. The Fügener became Vice Junior World Champion in Altenberg in 2006 . Pfister has been competing in the Luge World Cup since the 2004/05 season . In his first two seasons he reached 16th and 18th place in the overall standings. In 2006/07 he made a great sporting step forward. In nine races he was four times in the top ten, in Calgary he achieved his best individual result to date. He finished the overall standings in ninth place. At the Challenge Cup 2006/07 he was even eighth overall. At the team world cup races in Königssee he finished second with Austria and third in Winterberg . The 2007/08 Luge World Cup started successfully for the Austrian. At the start in Lake Placid he finished fourth and thus his best World Cup placement in an individual race to date, and with the team he finished second again. He finished 15th in the individual luge world championships in 2005 , and in 2007 he was twelfth and won the bronze medal with the team behind Germany and Italy. The 2008/09 season was the best so far for Pfisters. In the first seven races of the season, he always placed in single digits. In Cesana Pariol he took third place on the podium for the first time. The greatest success so far was winning the bronze medal at the 2009 Luge World Championships in Lake Placid. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , Pfister was sixth as the best Austrian.
