At the European Luge Championships 2010 in Sigulda, Penz / Fischler finished fifth. In the overall ranking of the 2009/10 season it was enough for both of them only to rank 11. In the following season they improved significantly and ended up fifth in the overall World Cup. However, they could not take the performance to the Luge World Championships 2011 in Cesana Pariol and were only 14th in doubles. In the 2011/12 season he won the first World Cup on the bobsleigh Igls artificial ice rink in Innsbruck-Igls, ahead of the Russians Yuschakow / Machnutin and their teammates Linger / Linger. In Whistler they also celebrated another podium finish as second. At the final European Championships in 2012 in Paramonowo (Moscow) , they celebrated another World Cup victory with their title win and thus came fourth in the overall World Cup ranking.

In the 2012/13 season Penz / Fischler were able to further improve their performance. Except for one World Cup, they were on the podium in all races, mostly they only had to admit defeat to the Germans Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt . At the 2013 European Luge Championships, they both celebrated bronze medals. At the following World Luge Championships in 2013 , Penz / Fischler finished fifth. In Winterberg they had to share this space with the Italians Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner . They also secured third place in the team relay on the same track. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Penz / Fischler were still in third place after the first run, but fell back to 19th place after driving errors. Both finished the overall World Cup a little later in fourth place.

The home world championships in Innsbruck-Igls were a long way off. In the end he got the green light from the doctors and was able to start at the home World Cup . While they missed a medal in the actual two-seater competition with fourth place behind the three German duos, they won the silver medal in the sprint competition.

After Georg Fischler and his partner Peter Penz won their last race in the 2011/12 season, they won the two-seater sprint in Lillehammer in the 2017/18 season ahead of the Germans Wendl / Arlt and the Americans Mortensen / Terdiman . With a World Cup victory and third place in the two-seater World Cup behind them, they traveled to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the two-seater competition, the duo won the silver medal 0.088 seconds behind the Olympic champions Wendl / Arlt. With the Austrian relay they won the bronze medal behind Germany and Canada.
