History of the company
The company LAOLA1 Multimedia GmbH was founded on July 13, the 2,001th It is based in Vienna and is a subsidiary of the sportsman media holding . The managing directors are Thomas Krohne , President of the German Volleyball Association , Karl Wieseneder and Rainer Geier.
The company's first project was the Sport1.at website , which mainly specialized in highlight videos . This site was replaced six years later by Laola1.tv and a focus on live sports broadcasts. The company also produced various websites, for example for the German national team or professional clubs such as VfB Stuttgart or Hertha BSC .
In 2009, the company acquired the live broadcast rights to the Spanish Primera División . The broadcasts from Spain made the site better known and brought it up to 1.3 million viewers. Program and content
In 2008, Laola1.tv secured the rights to the Bundesliga as part of a collaboration with bwin and showed the top games every week in paid broadcasts. Since 2009, free live streams of the Spanish Primera División games have been offered. They are one of the page formats with the greatest reach. The cup and the second division are also offered from Spain . In addition, games in the second Portuguese league and friendly games in the summer and winter break, mainly with the participation of teams from German-speaking countries, are broadcast.
Various ice hockey competitions are also shown. The Austrian ice hockey league has been part of this since 2010 , and the Russian league is also shown. In 2012, Laola1.tv and ServusTV became a new partner of the German Ice Hockey League and since then has been broadcasting a game on Friday evening. In the field of volleyball, the company owns the rights to various European Cup competitions as well as the Russian and Greek professional leagues. Since 2013 some tennis tournaments of the ATP and WTA tours have been shown. In addition, table tennis, handball, motor sports and basketball competitions are broadcast.
