Norbert Huber
Norbert Huber (born September 3, 1964 in Bruneck ) is a former Italian luge rider .
Norbert Huber belongs to the well-known Huber family of sledges and bobsleds from South Tyrol . He has been very successful in both singles and doubles throughout his long career.
In the individual, Huber won the overall world cup three times in a row from 1985 to 1987. In 1984 and 1998 he was second, in 1990 third. At the 1999 World Championships in Königssee he was third, at the European Championships in 1984 and 1992 he won silver, and in 1998 bronze.
With his long-term partner Hansjörg Raffl , Huber won silver at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , and bronze two years earlier in Albertville .
World champions were both 1990 in Calgary , second in 1983 in Lake Placid , 1989 in Winterberg and 1993 in Calgary, third in 1991 in Winterberg.
They also won several medals at the European Championships: gold in 1992 and 1994, silver in 1988 and 1990, bronze in 1986 and 1984.
The duo won the overall World Cup in 1983, 1985, 1986 and five times in a row from 1989 to 1993; in addition, there was a second place in 1984 and two third places in 1987 and 1988.
Today Huber runs a hotel in Mühlwald .
