Josef Strillinger

Josef Strillinger is a former German luger .

Josef Strillinger was one of the most successful German luge athletes of the 1950s. With his partner Fritz Nachmann , he won the bronze medal at the first Luge World Championships in Oslo in 1955 . Two years later in Davos and a year later in Krynica-Zdrój the doubles became world champions. In 1960 Nachmann / Strillinger won the German championship title. Strillinger also competed in the single-seater, where winning the bronze medal at the 1954 European Championship was the greatest success.

For his sporting success, Strillinger was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by the Federal President on September 12, 1959 .
