Peter Gschnitzer
Peter Gschnitzer (born July 10, 1953 in Sterzing ) is a former Italian luge athlete .
Sporting successes
The South Tyrolean Peter Gschnitzer was a member of the Italian toboggan team from the mid-1970s to the end of the 1980s.
Peter Gschnitzer celebrated his greatest sporting success in 1980 at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid in the two-seater competition, when he won the silver medal together with Karl Brunner and behind the duo Hans Rinn / Norbert Hahn from the GDR .
At the 1977 Luge World Championships in Igls he also won the silver medal (winner again Hans Rinn / Norbert Rahn) and the bronze medal at the 1979 European Championships in Oberhof - always together with Karl Brunner .
Gschnitzer and Brunner also won the first two World Cup competitions in 1977/78 and 1978/79.
