Markus Kleinheinz

Markus Kleinheinz (born August 27, 1976 ) is an Austrian toboggan athlete who has so far participated in two single-seater Olympic Winter Games for Austria .

Career

The 1.80 m tall regular soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces lives in Neustift in the Stubaital and starts for the Igls sports club . The Tyrolean has taken part in two Olympic Winter Games so far and finished fifth (Nagano 1998) and eighth (Salt Lake City 2002). After a positive doping test in May 2000, he was banned for two years. At the World Championships he came fifth in 2005 and sixth in the single-seater in 2003. In the Luge World Cup he achieved several podium places (1st to 3rd place) in individual races and the overall World Cup victory in the 2002/03 season. He took further good places in the overall World Cup in 2005 (3rd place) and 2004 (5th place).
