Jozef Ninis (born June 28, 1981 in Čadca ) is a Slovak luge athlete .

Career

Jozef Ninis is a physical education teacher living in Čadca. He has been a luge since 1991 and has been a member of the Slovak national team since 1996. He made his debut in the 2001/02 season in the Luge World Cup . Ninis achieved his best placement in 2006/07 with the 13th place in Sigulda , in the overall World Cup the 22nd place in the overall World Cup rankings 2007/08 , 2010/11 and 2011/12 is his greatest success.

At his first World Championships in 2004 in Nagano , Japan , he was 17. A year later it was only enough for 38th place in Park City . After he had not been used in the team competition in the years before, he joined in 2007 with Miroslav Horvath , Jozef Kuchar and Veronika Sabolová and reached seventh place. In the individual competition he reached the 23rd place. At the Luge World Championships 2008 in Oberhof , Ninis achieved his best ever World Championship result with 13th place. He finished 18th in individual at the 2009 World Championships in Lake Placid , USA , and with the team he achieved fifth place. In Cesana , Italy, he finished 17th in 2011 , the team competition had been canceled due to technical problems. Ninis finished the 2012 Luge World Championships in Altenberg with 14th place in the individual competition and ninth in the team competition .

The 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin ended Ninis than 22. When luge competition of the men at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canadian Vancouver he reached the 24th place.
