Kisa is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Östergötland County and the historical province of Östergötland . Kisa is the capital of the Kinda municipality . Here the rivers Kisaån and Lillån converge and flow into Lake Kisasjön , on the southern bank of which is Kisa.

History

The place name Kisa probably refers to the round mountain Borgarberg near the church of Kisa. Kisa is located on a historically important traffic connection, the Kalmarweg. Gustav Vasa's royal army suffered a defeat against insurgents in Kisa on September 15, 1542.

Museums

Café Columbia is located directly in Kisa and also includes an emigration museum.

Like many Swedish places, Kisa also has a Hembygdsgård, a kind of small open-air museum , this area is not far from the center of the place above the Kisa lake. The first building at Hembygdsgård was built as early as 1929, a manorial house from the mid-17th century in the area around Kisa (Västra Eneby socken). This is still the main building of Hembygdsgård, which now consists of around 15 houses. This includes a small farm ensemble with a cowshed, a grocery store and a shoemaker's workshop at Hembygdsgård. In one of the buildings there is a school museum with a facility from around 1850. The photo shows a storage building with two floors, with a small bell tower.

Surroundings of Kisa

The summer lake is not far away . The city of Linköping , one of the largest cities in Sweden, is 55 kilometers north of Kisa.
