Manuel Pfister, brother of Daniel Pfister , lives in Fügen and began tobogganing in 1999. The roofer from the TU Sparkasse Innsbruck association had his first notable successes in the junior sector. The 2006/07 season brought the Austrian five podium finishes in the Junior World Cup, including a win in Winterberg and second place in the overall ranking of the racing series. At the junior WW in Cesana Pariol he won the silver medal like two years before. Pfister also came second in the Tyrolean and Austrian championships.

After Pfister had already started nationally in the men's division, he had also competed internationally in the men since the 2006/07 season . In the following season Pfister already contested half of the World Cup races and improved his best results in Winterberg to 15th and in Königssee to 13th place. In the overall ranking of the World Cup, he was 29. The European Luge Championships 2008 in Cesana, where the Austrian finished tenth, were even more successful . At the World Championships in Oberhof he came in 17th. In the 08/09 season Pfister was able to improve further. In Calgary he finished ninth in the top ten for the first time, and he finished the overall standings as 18th . Pfister finished 25th at the World Championships in Lake Placid .
