Bresowo (also: Brezovo; Bulgarian : Брезово) is a city with 1774 inhabitants (2016) and the administrative seat of a municipality of the same name in Plovdiv Oblast in central Bulgaria . The city is located in the Thracian Plain at the foot of the Balkan Mountains , 40 km northeast of Plovdiv . It is located on road No. 56, which leads from Plovdiv to Shipka . The highway A1 runs south at 15 km.
