Kuklen ( Bulgarian : Куклен) is a city and administrative center of a municipality of the same name in Plovdiv Oblast in central Bulgaria . The city with 5,805 inhabitants (2016) is located in the Thracian Plain at the foot of the Rhodope Mountains , approx. 14 km south of Plovdiv and 7 km northwest of Asenovgrad . The highway A1 runs north 20 km away.
Since 2008, the city has given its name to Kuklen Point , a headland on Livingston Island in Antarctica.
