Sadowo (also: Sadovo; Bulgarian : Садово) is a town with 2,476 inhabitants (2016) and the administrative center of a municipality of the same name in the Plovdiv Oblast in central Bulgaria . The city is located 15 km east of Plovdiv and 15 km northeast of Asenovgrad .
The Mariza runs north, 1 km away.
The A1 motorway runs north 10 km away.
In 1916 the highest temperature in Bulgaria was registered in Sadowo with 45.2 ° C.
Most of the population is employed in agriculture. This is efficient and very productive due to the fertile soils and the high level of mechanization. Mainly apples, tomatoes , pepper , wheat , barley and rice are grown.
