Olli Muotka (born July 14, 1988 in Rovaniemi ) is a Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Muotka, who has competed for the Lahden Hiihtoseura club since the 2011/2012 season and previously for Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura , the club in his hometown Rovaniemi, was active as a Nordic combined skier before his career as a ski jumper and started there in the World Cup B. Muotka had his first international appearances in the third-class FIS Cup in Kuopio in December 2005, where he scored straight away with a 24th place. Also in the Continental Cup , where he made his debut on December 1, 2007 in Pragelato , Italy , he was able to score points in his first competition and finished the competition in 21st place. He achieved his first victory in the Continental Cup on December 27, 2010 in Switzerland Engelberg .

In March 2007, the student won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio, Italy, alongside Sami Niemi , Mika Kauhanen and Lauri Asikainen . On March 9, 2009, Muotka was used as a member of the national group in Kuopio for the first time in a qualification for a World Cup competition, but missed the qualification with 59th place.

He got his first World Cup points on January 16, 2010 when jumping in Sapporo , Japan , which he finished in 14th place. A result that he has only been able to repeat once, on February 13, 2011 in Vikersund . Almost two months later, he and Janne Happonen , Matti Hautamäki and Harri Olli won the bronze medal in the team competition of the 2010 Ski Flying World Championships in Planica as a replacement for the missing Janne Ahonen .

At the Finnish Ski Jumping Championships 2011 in Kuopio , Muotka won the title on the large hill ahead of Jarkko Määttä and Juha-Matti Ruuskanen . A week later he followed up with the normal hill title in his hometown of Rovaniemi.
