Kang Chil-gu ( Korean 강 칠구, 姜 七 求 ; born August 8, 1984 in Muju ) is a former South Korean ski jumper . He jumped for the ski jumping club of his birthplace Muju.

Career

Kang is mainly active in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , but also tries his hand at the World Cup . Especially between 2001 and 2004 he qualified several times for the main competition, once he scored World Cup points - in 2003, 29th in Kuusamo . With the team he was eighth of eleven teams in Sapporo in 2002 . His last World Cup qualification so far was on January 20, 2013 in Sapporo.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and 2006 in Turin was Kang Chil-ku member of the South Korean team. He was able to qualify for both individual competitions (46th on the normal and 47th on the large hill) and finished 8th with the team. In 2006 he reached 13th place with the team.

Kang has never been able to qualify for an individual competition at a Nordic World Ski Championships , but in 2005 in Oberstdorf he was 10th in the team competition on the normal hill and 13th in the team competition on the large hill. In addition, Kang Chil-gu has already taken part in ski flying world championships twice.
