Muju County ( kor. 무주군 , Muju-gun ) is located in Jeollabuk-do Province in South Korea . The administrative headquarters are in the city of Muju-eup.
In the district there is the 1614 m high mountain Deogyusan , which is located in the national park of the same name, opened in 1975. In the national park can be found next to the 30 km long Gucheondong also the valley -Tal Chilyeon with a waterfall, which is composed of seven cascade composed of seven associated ponds. The district is known for its winter sports center Muju Resort in the national park.
Well-known temples are the Baengnyeonsa and the Anguksa temple, built in 1277 , which is the only temple in the Jeoksangsanseong Fortress . The fortress is on the top of Jeoksangsan Mountain (1029 m).
