The ski jumping tried Jessica Jerome at the age of seven, shortly after her family moved to Park City , Utah was moved, for the first time. In 2001 and 2002 she became a junior Olympic champion. She also won gold four times at the national championships and started at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City as a pre-wrestler in the competitions.
Her first major international success was her victory at the FIS Ladies Grand Prix in February 2004 in Schönwald in the Black Forest . She finished the 2006 season with seven podium finishes in the Continental Cup series as third, behind Anette Sagen and Lindsey Van . After a training fall in December 2006, she had to end the following season early because of torn ligaments in her right knee. A year later, she was seventh in the overall COC ranking with a third place and eight further placements in the top ten.
In December 2010 she celebrated her first victory in a Continental Cup competition. From December 2011 Jerome started in the newly created World Cup. On January 8, 2012 in Hinterzarten , she achieved her first podium with third place and thus her best individual placement to date.
At the end of December 2013, Jerome won the US trials, securing her nomination for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . At the Olympic premiere of women's ski jumping, Jerome came in 10th as the best American woman. On March 2, 2014, she achieved her best World Cup placement with second place in the jumping in Râșnov .
