FIS Ladies Winter Tour
The FIS Ladies Winter Tour , known as the FIS Ladies Grand Prix until 2008 , was a competitive series in ski jumping . The tour was held between 1999 and 2011 and was the oldest and most traditional series of competitions in women's ski jumping, comparable to the men's Four Hills Tournament . The series was integrated into the Ski Jumping Continental Cup from 2008 . The series has not taken place in this form since the introduction of the ski jumping World Cup for women.
Rating
The overall ranking is similar to the Four Hills Tournament by adding up the results of the individual competitions.
history
The tour was first held in 1999 under the name FIS Ladies Grand Tour and consisted of five individual competitions in Braunlage , Baiersbronn , Schönwald , Breitenberg and Ramsau . In the following year, Ramsau was replaced as the venue by Saalfelden and Braunlage fell away. A team competition was also held in Breitenberg. In 2001 the Grand Tour was renamed the FIS Ladies Grand Prix. In the following years there were always four individual competitions in Baiersbronn, Schönwald, Saalfelden and Breitenberg. In addition to these competitions, a team competition was held at one of the four stations. Only in 2001, when the individual and team competition in Saalfelden was canceled and the team ranking was made by adding up the individual competitions, it was deviated from.
The Ladies Grand Prix has been held as part of the Ladies Continental Cup (L-COC) since 2005 . In 2007 Schönwald had to move the planned jumping to the Langenwaldschanze in Schonach due to lack of snow . In 2008 the jumping in Saalfelden was waived, instead a jumping was to be held in Seefeld , which had to be canceled due to the weather. Since the FIS did not award any jumping to Breitenberg / Rastbüchl in the 2008/09 Continental Cup season and the efforts of the organizers to hold a simple FIS jumping outside of the L-COC failed, there was no Ladies Grand Prix in 2009 held more because the Grand Prix was not considered feasible at only two venues.
After Braunlage was included in the Continental Cup calendar for the 2009/10 season, there were again enough venues available to continue the series. To avoid confusion with the Ski Jumping Grand Prix , the series was called the FIS Ladies Winter Tour . Since the Adlerschanze in Schönwald was closed in 2008, the jumping organized by SC Schönwald took place on the Langenwaldschanze in Schonach, only a few kilometers away. In 2011, the series was held for the only time in Hinterzarten.
Since the introduction of the ski jumping World Cup for women in the 2011/12 season, the series no longer takes place in this form.
