The first individual competition took place on January 8th on the Langenwaldschanze. Taylor Henrich and Lucie Míková were disqualified . The opening competition was overshadowed by the death of the Italian ski jumper Simona Senoner on January 7, 2011. The Italian winter athletes jumped in her honor in a black ribbon . Before the award ceremony, the deceased was thought of in silence. Daniela Iraschko dedicated her victory in Schonach to Simona Senoner. CanadaCanada Czech RepublicCzech Republic
