Léa Lemare (born June 21, 1996 in Albertville ) is a French ski jumper .
Career
Léa Lemare made her debut on August 8, 2009 in a Continental Cup competition in Bischofsgrün . She finished her first season in 68th place. In addition to the competitions in the Continental Cup, she also took part in the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten , where she reached 36th place in individual jumping. At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Otepää , Estonia , she finished 22nd. She was then included in the squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo . In jumping from the normal hill she was 33.
In the summer of 2011 she achieved second place at a Continental Cup in Oberwiesenthal, her first and so far only place on the podium. Léa Lemare has been taking part in World Cup jumping since the 2011/12 winter season . At the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck , Austria , she finished fourth in the singles in January 2012 and was ninth with the French mixed team. At the Junior World Championships in 2012 in Erzurum, Turkey , she was 24th in the singles and fifth with the junior team.
Together with her teammates Coline Mattel , Julia Clair and Océane Avocat Gros , she won the silver medal in team jumping on the normal hill at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2013 . She then reached the 38th place in the individual and fifth with the mixed team at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Predazzo, Italy . At the French Ski Jumping Championships in 2013 she won the title on the normal hill in Chaux-Neuve as well as bronze with the mixed team.
In the following winter, Lemare was one of the strong jumpers in the Continental Cup. So she finished the 2013/14 season in 12th place overall. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme in 2014 , she finished 16th in the individual competition and in the team competition she won the bronze medal together with Marie Hoyau , Julia Clair and Coline Mattel. At the Olympic premiere of women's ski jumping, she came in 20th.
At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 she took 32nd place in the individual competition and in the mixed team competition she was eighth with Ronan Lamy Chappuis , Julia Clair and Vincent Descombes Sevoie . After a less successful 2015/16 World Cup season with only two finals, she took part in the 2016 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Râșnov . She finished 17th in the individual and tenth place in the team competition.
In the 2016/17 World Cup season she was again significantly more successful. Her best placement of the season was twelfth in Râşnov. In the overall World Cup ranking she finished 22nd with 165 points, which was her best result so far. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she finished 20th in the individual competition and tenth in the mixed team competition.
On September 16 and 17, 2017, she achieved her first podium finishes in the FIS Cup in Kandersteg . On the first day she won the competition, on the second day she was second behind Nika Križnar . On December 16, 2017, she took part in the first women's team competition in the history of the Ski Jumping World Cup in Hinterzarten , together with Julia Clair , Romane Dieu and Lucile Morat . The French team finished third on the podium. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she took 28th place in the individual competition on the normal hill .
At the Ski World Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , Lemare finished 30th, while she finished seventh with the team.
