Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (born January 20, 1991 in Ried im Innkreis , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian ski jumper . At the Junior World Championships in 2008 , she won the junior women's individual jumping title.

Career

Seifriedsberger started ski jumping in 1995. From 2003 she started for the ÖSV in FIS races , later in the Continental Cup and finally in the World Cup . Your home club is SC Waldzell . She made her debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on July 23, 2004 in Park City , where she was able to achieve a placement among the top ten with eighth place. In the second competition she also achieved a good result with tenth place. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Kranj , Slovenia , she achieved sixth place in individual jumping. On March 1, 2006, Seifriedsberger reached the podium for the first time with third place on the Zaō hill in Yamagata . The 2005/06 season she finished in 16th place overall. At the Junior World Championships 2007 in Tarvisio , she jumped again to sixth place. On August 15, 2007 she was able to win a Continental Cup show jumping test in Pöhla for the first time in her career. In all other competitions of the season she was placed in the top ten. In the overall ranking of the 2007/08 season , she finished third. In 2008 she became Junior World Champion in Zakopane, Poland . A year later, she managed to jump to fifth place at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , she reached 12th place in the individual on the normal hill. In the Continental Cup, she could no longer build on the performances of the 2007/08 season. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten , as in 2006 and 2007, she only achieved sixth place. On December 3, 2011 she made her debut in the World Cup in Lillehammer and finished 13th. During the 2011/12 season she was able to consolidate her results in midfield. At the World Cup competition in Ljubno she was able to jump on the podium (third place) for the first time and came in 11th place in the overall World Cup ranking. In the 2012/13 season she achieved second place in a World Cup show jumping test for the first time in Sapporo, before celebrating her first victory the next day. At the end of the season she finished fourth in the overall World Cup ranking. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she won the bronze medal in the individual competition and silver in the mixed competition together with Chiara Hölzl , Gregor Schlierenzauer and Thomas Morgenstern .

In the 2013/14 season she was only able to take part in the first World Cup station in Lillehammer before she suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and a meniscus damage in her right knee in a fall during training in Hinterzarten . As a result, she missed the Olympic premiere of women's ski jumping at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .

She made her comeback after this injury at the World Cup show jumping in Lillehammer on December 5, 2014. A week later, she managed a victory and third place at the Continental Cup in Notodden . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she finished seventh in the individual and fourth in the mixed team competition.

In the 2015/16 season she managed to jump on the podium in a World Cup competition for the first time after her injury. It came third three times in January and February 2016. At the end of the season she equaled her best overall World Cup placement with fourth place. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , she achieved two more third places in Lillehammer and Nizhny Tagil . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she finished seventh in the individual competition, as in 2015. In the mixed team competition she was able to repeat her success from 2013 and together with Daniela Iraschko-Stolz , Michael Hayböck and Stefan Kraft she won the silver medal.

After her injury-related loss in 2014, she took part in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang for the first time in 2018 . In the individual competition on the normal hill , she finished 13th.

At the night team competition held on January 19, 2019 on the normal hill in Yamagata , she and Eva Pinkelnig , Chiara Hölzl and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz took second place behind the German team.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , Seifriedsberger won the silver medal in the team competition with the team that also included Eva Pinkelnig , Chiara Hölzl and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz . In the individual competition she came in 16th.

In a fall in Lillehammer in March 2020, Seifriedsberger tore a cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee.
