Sonja Schoitsch (born February 5, 1997 ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

In the 2009/10 season Schoitsch won the overall ranking of the Austria Cup in the school class. On August 14th, 2010 she made her debut in the Continental Cup in Bischofsgrün on the Ochsenkopfschanzen and finished in 44th place. In the second competition she was 47th. Three days later, Schoitsch took 25th place in an FIS race in Pöhla . In winter , Schoitsch took part in the FIS Ladies Winter Tour in Schonach in the Black Forest and Hinterzarten . However, she missed the second round in all three competitions. In the end, Schoitsch finished 40th in the overall ranking. It wasn't until February that she competed in the Continental Cup again in Ramsau am Dachstein . At the first competition, Schoitsch was 19th for the first time in her career in the second round. In the second jumping, however, she did not take part. At the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2011 in Baiersbronn , she took sixth place. This season she again won the Austria Cup in the school class. Schoitsch also won the overall ranking of the Landescup in Carinthia. In the Ladies Cup she was fourth in the junior class. On February 5th, 2012 she made her debut in the World Cup in Hinzenbach , winning her first two World Cup points with 29th place. At her first Junior World Championships in 2012 in Erzurum , she was 34th in the individual and 8th in the team. In the 2012/13 Alpine Cup season, she won third place in Einsiedeln . At her second Nordic Ski Games at the OPA 2014 in Gérardmer , she won the silver medal in the individual junior women and the bronze medal in Team II.

In addition to ski jumping, Schoitsch also operates Nordic combined, but only nationally because there are no international competitions in Nordic combined for women.
