Christiane Slawik

Christiane Slawik (born January 13, 1964 in Würzburg ) is a German photographer and author who specializes in horse images and themes.

Life

She studied at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . Her thesis entitled "Hippological considerations on naturalistic horse representations in the fine arts" already had horses on the subject. After staying in the USA, she worked for radio, then worked as a presenter and temporary editor-in-chief for television in Germany.

Slawik works for around 40 publishers. She publishes specialist books, articles and illustrated books in Europe and the USA. Her photographs appear on magazine covers every year and illustrate around twenty calendars and specialist books. In 2008, her illustrated book "Motiv: Pferd" won the Benjamin Franklin Award as the best US animal book of the year. In 2011, the Graphische Klub Stuttgart eV awarded the Slawik calendar “Horses 2011” (DUMONT) a bronze medal to 635 participants in its sales calendar show.
