Chang Xinyue ( Chinese 常 馨 月 , born February 13, 1994 ) is a Chinese ski jumper .

Career

Chang made her international debut on January 16, 2011 in the Continental Cup during the FIS Ladies Winter Tour 2011 at the final competition in Braunlage . With a 32nd place she couldn't get any points. She succeeded for the first time a week later on January 23 at the Continental Cup in Ljubno when she finished 29th.

On January 19 and 20, 2013 she started for the first time in the FIS Cup in Râşnov . With two third places she managed to jump onto the podium. Then she started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec . However, she only finished 41st and therefore penultimate place. After this participation, she made her debut in the World Cup in Ljubno on February 16, 2013 . With places 32 and 40 on the following day, however, she missed the points. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she finished 30th in the individual competition, which was held on the normal hill. This result was the best result ever achieved by a Chinese ski jumper at the Nordic World Ski Championships . At the Continental Cup on March 2, 2013 in Oberwiesenthal , she landed in 12th place. It was the first time for Chang that she was placed in the top 15 in the Continental Cup and only the second event in which she got COC points . With this placement she finished the Continental Cup 2012/13 in 22nd place in the overall ranking.

In 2015 she again took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . She landed in the individual competition from the normal hill to 38th place.

After several starts in the 2016/17 World Cup , in which she again failed to score points, she started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , where she finished 35th in the individual on the normal hill.

On September 9, 2017, she made her debut in the Summer Grand Prix in Tchaikovsky . She managed to get her first Grand Prix points as 24th. The following day she missed the points as 35th. At the start of the 2017/18 World Cup season , she finished 27th and 26th on the normal hill and 23rd on the large hill in the first-ever Lillehammer Triple . With that she got the first World Cup points of her career. In the overall ranking of the Lillehammer Triple, she came in 25th. On January 13, 2018, she jumped tenth in the top ten of a World Cup jumping for the first time in Sapporo . After further placements in the top 20, she was the only Chinese ski jumper to take part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the individual competition on the normal hill , she finished 20th.
