Jonathan Gressel

Jonathan Gressel (* 1936 in Cleveland ) is an Israeli agronomist.

Gressel were born in the USA and came to Israel in 1950. He did his PhD at the University of Wisconsin and then worked as a professor at the Weizmann Institute for Science until his retirement . In 2008 he was a co-founder of the TransAlgae company . In 2010 he received the Israel Prize in the Agriculture category.

Together with Lee Segel he developed models for the development of resistance to herbicides . In the last few years he has dealt with control options for Orobanche and Striga .
