At the Continental Cup jumping on February 15, 2014 in Lahti , Straub injured himself in the second round and tore a cruciate ligament. She had to undergo an operation and end the 2013/14 season early.

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Straub was able to start again in international competition. In December 2014 she made her comeback in the Continental Cup in Notodden and finally in the World Cup in Oberstdorf in January 2015 as part of the national group . During a routine examination in February 2015, however, it was found that she had to be operated on again due to scar tissue, whereupon the 2014/15 season ended prematurely for her.

After the renewed operation, she made her international comeback again at the Continental Cup in Notodden in December 2015. In January 2016, the World Cup comeback followed as part of the national group in Oberstdorf, where she was the 24th to get World Cup points.

In the 2016/17 season she was a permanent member of the German World Cup team and reached the finals in almost every competition. In the overall World Cup, she finished 19th. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she took 33rd place in the individual competition.

On August 18, 2017, Straub won her first Continental Cup victory in Oberwiesenthal . The following day she was second behind the Polish Kamila Karpiel . In the 2017/18 season she only joined the World Cup team in December via the national group in Hinterzarten . With fourth place, she achieved the best placement of her career in an individual world cup competition. She then remained part of the World Cup team and was finally nominated for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the individual competition on the normal hill she took eighth place. She finished the season 14th in the overall World Cup and thus achieved her best result in this category to date.

On December 2, 2018, she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup as part of the Lillehammer Triple 2018 as second behind Katharina Althaus . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld , Straub together with Juliane Seyfarth , Carina Vogt and Katharina Althaus won the world championship title ahead of Austria and Norway in the team competition, which was held for the first time. In the individual competition, she came in 18th. At the first Raw Air 2019 competition on Holmenkollbakken in Oslo , Straub fell badly in the second round and tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee.
