Kristof Van Hout (born February 9, 1987 in Lommel ) is a Belgian football goalkeeper who is currently active at KVC Westerlo .
With a height of 208 centimeters, Van Hout is currently considered to be the world's largest active professional football player.
Career
youth
Van Hout began his career as a football goalkeeper in 1992 in the youth division of his home club, SK Lommel . There he went through several youth league classes and already showed his defensive talent in penalty situations. In 2003 he moved to the youth department of the KFC Verbroedering Geel in Geel in the province of Antwerp .
After only a year he left the club again and was used in the youth of Willem II Tilburg in the Netherlands . There he played in the youth team until 2007 and was also part of the professional team in the 2006/07 season with games in the Eredivisie , the country's highest football league.
Club career
After he did not play a single professional league assignment at Willem II Tilburg as a substitute goalkeeper during the 2006/07 season, the young goalkeeper moved to KV Kortrijk in the EXQI League , the second Belgian league, in 2007 . There he finally made his professional debut when he guarded the goal of his team for the full length of the game on the last match day, on May 11, 2008, in the 1-0 away win over KSK Beveren . At the end of the season, the team was ten points behind AFC Tubize in first place in the table and could call themselves champions of the EXQI League. During the 2008/09 season Van Hout came to three more league appearances in the Jupiler League when he guarded the gate in the last three games at the end of the season and allowed only three goals. At the Belgian Cup , he and his team made it into four games, although they just failed in the quarter-finals at KV Mechelen , the later cup finalist.
After two seasons in Kortrijk, the 208 cm tall and 110 kg heavy goalkeeper transferred to Standard Liège, where he was the oldest goalkeeper in the already very young group, alongside Champions League goalscorers Sinan Bolat (* 1988) and Anthony Moris (* 1990) at the age of 22 Professional squad stands. There he came as a substitute goalkeeper behind Sinan Bolat to two professional league appearances and an appearance in the Belgian Cup.
In the summer of 2014 he signed a contract with the Indian professional club Delhi Dynamos and was immediately declared number one. But only a year later he returned to Belgium and joined the KVC Westerlo .
