The Delhi Dynamos Football Club is an Indian football franchise of the Indian Super League from New Delhi .

The franchise has played in the Indian Super League since the 2014 season. The owner and operator is DEN TV Networks, a cable television provider from India.

history

founding

As part of the establishment of a new football league, Delhi applied for a football franchise. DEN Networks was awarded the contract on April 13, 2014 and founded the Delhi Dynamos. On August 23, 2014, Alessandro Del Piero became the team's first marquee player. With Mads Junker , another international player was signed in July 2014. Junker is also the captain of the team.

First season

The Dynamos made their debut on October 14, 2014 against FC Pune City in the Indian Super League. The game ended 0-0. On Matchday 2, Pavel Eliáš scored the first goal in the history of the franchise against Atlético de Kolkata . At the end of the season they reached fifth place and could not qualify for the play-offs.

Development from 2015

In July 2015, the former Brazilian national soccer player Roberto Carlos da Silva was signed as a player and coach.

DEN Networks is one of the leading cable television operators in India. In total, the company supplies cable television to eleven million households in India. DEN is based in Delhi.

Stadion

The home games are played at the 60,000-seat Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi .

Sponsorship

The e-commerce company FreeCharge is the team's current shirt sponsor. The Italian sporting goods manufacturer Lotto Sport Italia acts as a supplier.
