history

founding

At the beginning of 2014, the All India Football Federation announced the establishment of a new football league in cooperation with IMG and Reliance Industries . To do this, they looked for investors for football franchises in eight different cities in India. On April 13, 2014 it was announced that Sachin Tendulkar , a former Indian cricketer, and Prasad V Potluri, an Indian entrepreneur, had won the bid to form a football team from Kochi. On August 19, 2014, the former England international David James was signed as a marquee player and manager.

First season

The Blasters lost their first game in the Indian Super League 1-0 to NorthEast United FC on October 13, 2014 . The first goal in the history of the Kerala Blasters was scored by Canadian international Iain Hume on Matchday 2 in their 2-1 loss to Chennaiyin FC .

Stadion

The stadium is located in the Kaloor district of Kochi City. It is also known as the Kaloor International Stadium. The 75,000-seat stadium is also home to various cricket teams.

Sachin Tendulkar was an active cricketer himself until 2014. He was one of the best players in the world.

Prasad V Potluri is an Indian entrepreneur. He also chairs several universities and is the owner of a badminton team.
