The Association Football Clubs Tubize is a Belgian football club from Tubize .

history

On December 28, 1925, the Cercle Sportif Tubizien was founded. In February of the following year the club joined the Belgian association . On February 2, 1953, the local rival Club Sportif Esperance Tubize was founded, which became a member of the association in June. When the two teams merged on July 1, 1967 to form the Football Club Tubize , the newly created club was continued under the entry of CS Esperance.

In 1976 a new local rival emerged, the Amis Reunis Tubize . With this, the FC Tubize merged on July 1, 1990 to AFC Tubize, which competed in the fourth Belgian league. The club will continue to operate with the association under the entry of FC Tubize.

After the club had failed in the promotion games in 1995, it was promoted to the third division in 1996. There the team missed the league with three points behind Zultse VV . In 1998 the club was runner-up and qualified for the promotion games. However, AFC lost in the second round to Royal Sprimont CS 1: 2 and missed the direct re-promotion. In 1999, the club repeated the runner-up. In the last round of the promotion games they lost 2-0 to RFC Tournai , but because of the withdrawal of the second division KFC Herentals from play, there was a playoff with SK Maldegem , who had lost the other game in the last round. On May 28, 1999, they were defeated 3-2 after extra time and thus sealed the return to the third division.

AFC Tubize finished sixth in 2000, eighth a year later. While the team advanced to the last 16 of the Belgian Cup, where they failed at RAA La Louvière , they finished fourth in the table at the end of the season. However, she was denied the license for the second division in advance, so that qualification for the promotion games was denied.

In 2003 AFC Tubize was five points ahead of pursuers Oud-Heverlee Löwen champions of the third division and thus managed to move up to the second division. There the club was fourth in the table and thus qualified for the promotion games, where the march into the first division was missed by a very narrow margin . Promoted KV Ostend was only one point ahead in this balanced, four-team round, which AFC Tubize finished last in the table. With Yves Buelinckx , who scored 25 goals, he was also the king of the second division.

In 2004/05, AFC Tubize, as sixth in the table, just missed the promotion games to the Jupiler League, in the following season the team placed twelfth, then ninth. In the 2007/08 season they finally reached the relegation games with second place in the second division. With 6 wins from 6 games, the team prevailed against Royal Antwerp , KVSK United Overpelt-Lommel and Oud-Heverlee Leuven and played their only year in the First Division in the 2008/09 season , from which they came back in seventeenth descent.

In the next few years they stayed in the middle of the second division. In the 2014/15 season , the license committee intended not to grant the club a new license for the second division for the next year. Due to an objection to the Belgian Sports Court, this was granted.

Since the 2016/17 season , only eight teams have taken part in the second division. Tubize could qualify for it. On November 18, 2017, the current coach Christian Bracconi was signed .

Tubize had to participate in the relegation round this season, but took 1st place there, so it remained in Division 1B. Also in the following season came to participate in the relegation round. This time, the club finished last there. Since Lierse SK became insolvent while participating in the play-off 2 of the first division , Tubize could again remain in division 1B.

Also in the 2018/19 season , the club was the last of the overall table to participate in the relegation round, where it also took last place and therefore relegated to the 1st division of the amateurs.
