The Royal Olympic Club de Charleroi-Marchienne is a Belgian football club from the city of Charleroi in the province of Hainaut .
history
The club was founded on September 20, 1911 as the Olympic Club Caroloregian Lodelinsart . In 1937 it was renamed the Royal Olympic Club Charleroi . Between 1972 and 1982 the club was called ROC de Montignies-sur-Sambre . Since the merger of the Royal Olympic Club with the Royal Association Marchienne in 2000, the club has borne its current name.
The ROC belonged to the top Belgian league between 1937 and 1963, with the exception of the 1955/56 season. The best place was the runner-up in 1947. In 1967 and 1974, the club managed to rise again, but had to relegate after only one season.
