The Royal Football Club Tournai is a Belgian football club from the city of Tournai in the province of Hainaut .
history
Since the merger of Royal Union Sportive Tournaisienne with the Royal Racing Club Tournaisien in 2002, the club has had its current name.
Royal Union Sportive
The club was founded in 1903 as Union Sportive Tournaisienne , a merger of the Student Club and Athletic Club . In 1928 it was renamed Royal Union Sportive Tournaisienne . In 1997, the Sporting Club de Pecq joined the club.
In the 1951/52 season RUS belonged to the only time in the club's history of the top Belgian league, but rose after only one season as bottom of the table.
Royal Racing Club
The RRC was founded in 1909 as Racing Club Tournaisien . In 1934 the addition Royal was added to the club name. The Royal Racing Club won the Belgian Cup in 1956 and played a year in the top Belgian league in the 1958/59 season, which he had to leave after only one year as the bottom of the table.
