Gyda Enger (born January 14, 1993 in Hernes ) is a Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Enger started ski jumping at the age of four. In her first professional season in 2005/06 in the Continental Cup she reached 19th place in Våler , and 51st place overall. In the 2006/07 season, Enger improved the overall ranking by seven places. In 2007/08 she secured her best daily result in Toblach and Breitenberg with eighth place. At the 2007 Junior World Championships in Tarvisio she jumped 17th in singles, and in 2008 in Zakopane 23rd. At the 2007 Norwegian Junior Championships in Rena , she won gold on the normal hill. At her third Junior World Championships in 2010 in Hinterzarten , she finished 14th.

She then took part in the 2011 Junior World Championships in Otepää as well as the 2012 Junior World Championships in Erzurum and the 2013 Junior World Championships in Liberec , but could not achieve a podium finish either individually or in a team.
Even at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she did not get past 26th place.

Gyda Enger has been competing in the World Cup since December 3, 2011, and her best result so far is 25th at the competition in Oslo on the Holmenkollen on March 17, 2013.

In February 2014, following the injury-related loss of Canadian Alexandra Pretorius and the renunciation of a subsequent nomination by the Canadian Olympic Committee and the successor Austrian Olympic Committee, it was set up by the Norwegian Association for the Winter Olympic Games . When jumping from the normal hill , she finished 24th.

After a mixed season in 2014/15, she underwent knee surgery at the end of May, after which she announced the end of her career. The reason for this was, despite the successful operation, permanent damage to the meniscus that resulted from a serious fall in the 2008/09 season.
