Miroslav Malý (born April 10, 1963 in Rakovnik , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player . During his career, the defender played in the German ice hockey Bundesliga .

career

Malý began his professional career in 1982 with SV Bayreuth in the ice hockey league . After the team's promotion to the 2nd national ice hockey league , he was drawn 76th by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft , but only played for one year with the American Hockey League teams of the Springfield Indians and the Baltimore Skipjacks in the United States and was not used in the National Hockey League . In 1985 he returned to Germany in the ice hockey Bundesliga and then played for SB Rosenheim . He left this team during the 1986/87 season in the direction of Villingen-Schwenningen and joined the Schwenninger ERC . After two seasons he switched to EV Landshut , but during the 1988/89 season he moved his domicile to Mannheim and ran for the Mannheim ERC . In 1991 he went back to Villingen-Schwenningen for three seasons to join the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , who played in the newly founded German Ice Hockey League , after a further three seasons . In 1996 he moved from this team to ERC Hassfurt and ended his career there after two more seasons.

In 1985 Malý, who was known for his tough, physical game, won the German ice hockey championship with the team from Rosenheim . He contributed to this championship with a goal scored during the play-offs . In his professional career, he scored a total of 29 goals in 625 games during the preliminary round .
