Carlo Giorgio Garofalo (born August 5, 1886 in Rome , † April 6, 1962 ) was an Italian composer and organist.

Garofalo studied at the Collegio Vaticano in Rome with Stanslao Falchi , Cesare De Sanctis , Remigio Renzi and Salvatore Saija . After graduating, he worked as a church music director in Boston for two years . Together with Saija he held the position of organist at the Great Synagogue in Rome for 22 years . In addition to sacred works, Garofalo composed a number of comic operas, orchestral and instrumental works, which, however, were hardly known. After its world premiere in 1915, his Romantic Symphony was given its second full performance in 1994 with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Joel Spiegelman . The recording of the work from 1999 was released on the Marco Polo label together with Garofalo's Violin Concerto, which was played by Sergei Stadler .
