Cesare De Sanctis

Cesare De Sanctis (born June 15, 1824 in Albano Laziale , † January 27, 1916 in Rome ) was an Italian composer, church musician and music teacher.

De Sanctis studied in Rome a. a. with Giuseppe Baini . He became Kapellmeister at Santa Maria sopra Minerva and San Giovanni dei Fiorentini and from 1877 taught counterpoint at the Liceo Musicale . He also worked as a theater conductor a. a. in Rome and Verona.

In addition to masses and other church music works, De Sanctis composed a requiem for King Karl Albert and a concert overture and wrote a Trattato d'armonia .
