Remigio Renzi

Remigio Renzi (born October 1, 1857 in Rome , † November 19, 1938 there ) was an Italian organist , composer and music teacher .

Renzi was a student of Gaetano Capocci . He taught at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where a. a. Pietro Yon , Elsa Respighi and Carlo Giorgio Garofalo were among his students. From 1883 until his death in 1938 he worked as an organist at St. Peter's Basilica . He emerged as a composer of organ works such as Andantino Cantabile , Pastorale per la notte di Natale - veglia dei Pastori and Fulgens stella maris . His Toccata in E major , which Domenico Severin recently recorded on CD, is well known.
